Native American Research Centers for Health RFA Deadline

The National Institute of General Medical Sciences, in conjunction with the Institutes/Centers of the National Institutes of Health invites applications from federally recognized Tribes and Tribal organizations for the Native American Research Centers for Health (NARCH) initiative. The objective of the NARCH initiative is to support biomedical research and career enhancement opportunities to meet health needs prioritized by American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) communities. The NARCH initiative also supports research capacity building and the development of research infrastructure to enhance the biomedical research capabilities of AI/AN communities. The purpose of the Native American Research Centers for Health (NARCH) initiative is to work toward reducing health disparities and promoting wellness in AI/AN populations by allowing the AI/AN communities to select, control and prioritize health-related research and research career enhancement opportunities; support research capacity and infrastructure building within AI/AN communities to promote their abilities to conduct important and sustainable biomedical research; promote the development of biomedical research talent within AI/AN communities; and enhance health research partnerships and reduce distrust of research by AI/AN communities, while promoting a cadre of scientists and health research professionals interested in AI/AN health research The deadline for applications is June 24th, 2020.
