June 11, 2021 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm UTC-6

Carlos O. Stocco, PhD, Professor in the Departments of Physiology and Biophysics & Obstetrics and Gynecology  at the University of Illinois at Chicago, will present “Differential Regulation of Ovarian Function by Salt Inducible Kinases” on Friday, June 11th at 11am via Zoom as part of the Olson Center for Women’s Health Seminar Series. The Stocco Lab studies ovarian function in vivo using conditional knockout mice and in vitro using molecular tools such as highly efficient silencing and expression systems in primary culture of human and rodent ovarian cells. The current research focuses on the interaction between the SIKs and gonadotropins on the regulation of ovarian function in the PCOS aspect. His lab investigates the biochemical and molecular basis of androgen synthesis to better understand the pathophysiology of PCOS. Use THIS LINK to view the presentation.
