Preserving Mental Health during COVID-19 Virtual Briefing

July 29, 2020 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm UTC-6

The American Brain Coalition, American College of Neuropsychopharmacology, and the National Alliance on Mental Illness in cooperation with the Congressional Neuroscience Caucus will present a VIRTUAL Congressional Neuroscience Caucus Briefing, “Preserving Mental Health during COVID-19,” on Wednesday, July 29th from 2 to 3pm (CST). The coronavirus outbreak, and the social-distancing measures now in place to prevent its spread, have turned our lives upside down. For those with mental illness, the pervasive climate of anxiety, stress and isolation may be especially harmful to their well-being. This briefing will examine the mental health components of the COVID-19 pandemic. Speakers include Joshua A. Gordon, MD, PhD, Director of the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), and Christine M. Crawford, MD, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Boston University School of Medicine.
