Michael Pichler, MD, Assistant Professor at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, will present “Issues at the Heart of Ischemic Stroke” on Thursday, October 8^th from 11:50am to 12:50 pm via Zoom. Dr. Pichler will review cardioembolic mechanisms of ischemic stroke, discuss diagnostic workup and treatment of patients with embolic stroke of undetermined source, review clinical evidence regarding PFO closure and left atrial appendage closure for secondary stroke prevention, and apply clinical evidence to determine best treatment options for patients with embolic stroke.
