REDCap is a free, secure, web-based application designed to support data capture for research studies. The system was developed by a multi-institutional consortium initiated at Vanderbilt University. The REDCap tool is deployed at UNMC behind the firewall and is configured to work anywhere in the world. Researchers in both clinical and basic science use this tool for data collection, data management and as a survey tool.
REDCap provides user-friendly web-based case report forms, real-time data entry validation (e.g. for data types and range checks), audit trails, and the ability to set up a calendar to schedule and track critical study events such as blood-draws, participant visits, etc. Also, designated users can assign different levels of access for each member of the research team.
For more information, training and to setup your account on UNMC REDCap, please contact Ashok Mudgapalli (402-559-9072). By default, all UNMC employees have UNMC REDCap access. Non-UNMC members who are part of Great Plains IDeA-CTR program can request access by sending an email to the address above. Training presentations on REDCap are available online.
