  Awardees receive up to $50,000 for one year, as well as access to resources of the Great Plains IDeA-CTR to support these research efforts.

  The research scholars program provides an integrated program of education, training and career development activities.
- Early Career Investigator Program
  The program provides up to $30,000 over two years and helps early faculty develop an R or K award or equivalent research application.
- Mini Sabbatical Program
  The Mini Sabbatical program allows clinical and translational research faculty to participate in short-term research immersion opportunities.

Our network works to increase visibility of resources available at all partner institutions.

Through shared use of cores, equipment and expertise, our participating institutions and investigators will gain access to critical resources and form collaborations to advance clinical and translational research.

Collaboration

Research Nebraska

Research Nebraska provides a platform to search for investigators with similar interests to help from new collaborations and research teams. All members of the Great Plains IDeA-CTR from partner institutions are automatically entered into this platform and have access to search for collaborators.

Research Interest Groups

The UNMC Vice Chancellor for Research Office is working to develop larger, more inter-disciplinary, collaborative research interactions and teams that can answer complex research questions and lead to new research grants.

Electronic Health Record Data Requests

The Research, Education, Administration, and Development of Biomedical Informatics (READi) Core provides access to local and national electronic health record data for research.

Equipment, Space and Expertise

UNMC Biobanks and Registries

Patient registries have been developed to identify individuals who would be interested in participating in research studies related to a specific disease or as a normal control, or in some cases to collect data that can be later studied to identify what might be causes of certain diseases, or what factors make them progress faster.

Responsible data management and sharing has many benefits, including accelerating the pace of biomedical research, enabling validation of research results, and providing accessibility to high-value datasets.

DMP Help for UNMC Researchers

Since Jan. 25, 2023, the policy requires that all application types (new, resubmission, renewal and revision) that generate Scientific Data, regardless of funding level, include a detailed plan for how the data will be managed and shared during the entire funding period.
