  Awardees receive up to $50,000 for one year, as well as access to resources of the Great Plains IDeA-CTR to support these research efforts.

  The research scholars program provides an integrated program of education, training and career development activities.
- Early Career Investigator Program
  The program provides $5,000 for one year and helps early faculty develop an R or K award or equivalent research application.
- Mini Sabbatical Program
  The Mini Sabbatical program allows clinical and translational research faculty to participate in short-term research immersion opportunities.

Center for Perception and Communication in Children

This center is working to be the national leader for research on speech, language, hearing, and cognitive development in children with communication disorders.

University of Nebraska-Lincoln

Rural Drug Addiction Research Center

This center facilitates collaboration between basic and health scientists to address the etiology, assessment, prevention and treatment of substance use and misuse.

Nebraska Center for the Prevention of Obesity Diseases

This center is fostering innovative approaches to combating major health threats to our nation, including obesity, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.

Center for Integrated Biomolecular Communications

The center is focused on developing research strengths directed toward understanding metabolic pathway shifts in complex diseases and developing novel biomolecular sensing strategies to diagnose, stage, and gauge the effectiveness of therapies for these disorders.

Redox Biology Center

This interdisciplinary entity involves researchers from UNL and UNMC. The center works to buttress and expand the existing strengths in redox biology in Nebraska by mentoring junior faculty, recruiting new faculty with complementary research interests and strategically enhancing biomedical research structure.

Nebraska Center for Molecular Target Discovery and Development

This center works to establish and expand physical and intellectual resources at UNMC and throughout the University of Nebraska system, in order to catalyze the identification, validation and development of novel targets and potential therapies for clinically important diseases.

Nebraska INBRE Program

This program is focused on creating a biomedical research infrastructure that provides research opportunities for undergraduate students and serves as a pipeline for those students to continue into graduate research.

Nebraska Pediatric Clinical Trial Unit

Acting as a central home for pediatric clinical research across Nebraska, this unit works with the pediatricians and pediatric specialists at the UNMC and Children’s Hospital & Medical Center to reach Nebraska's rural and underserved communities and to help to fill the gap in pediatric clinical trials.

Cognitive Neuroscience of Development & Aging Center

This center is focused on advancing translational and human neuroscience across the region and the world, and enhancing the ability of current and future generations of local scientists to successfully compete for extramural funding, publish high-impact work and rise to the forefront of the field.

ECHO ISPCTN Data Coordination & Operations Center (DCOC

The ECHO ISPCTN Data Coordinating & Operations Center (DCOC) is the central hub for the NIH’s Environmental influences on Child Health Outcomes (ECHO) Institutional Development Award States Pediatric Clinical Trials Network, providing data coordination, quality assurance, technical instruction, and operational support for multicenter pediatric clinical trials. It ensures standardized data practices, supports trial implementation and oversight, and helps expand research capacity and equitable access to clinical trials for children in rural and underserved communities across participating states.

Center for Research in Human Movement Variability

The center is dedicated to bringing scientists and established clinical investigators together to look at a variety of motor-related disorders in the neuromuscular system. The center's scientists are researching optimal approaches for therapies on the restoration of variability and complexity of movement that could be applied across a range of diseases.

Translational Hearing Center

The Dr. Richard J. Bellucci Translational Hearing Center at Creighton University is an interdisciplinary research hub focused on developing biomedical and therapeutic solutions to preserve or restore hearing and vestibular function, training the next generation of scientists in translational auditory and vestibular research.
