The Cognitive Neuroscience of Development & Aging (CoNDA) Center at UNMC is hosting Gareth Barnes, PhD, Professor in the Department of Neuroscience at University College London, on Friday, May 15^th at 10am. Dr. Barnes is presenting “Moving Towards Wearable Magnetoencephalography.” He  works with magnetoencephalography (MEG), a scanning technique that tracks neuronal activity around the healthy human brain millisecond by millisecond. His group is now focused on new generation of wearable MEG system. It will allow researchers to scan people as they act naturally (rather than being constrained in a hollow tube) and certain subjects (like children) who would not normally be comfortable or remain still in a conventional brain scanner.
