Bioethics Issues in LGBTQI+ Health: Findings From a New National Academy of Sciences Report

At the end of 2020, the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine released the new report, Understanding the Well-Being of LGBTQI+ Populations. Kellan Baker who was the consultant to the committee that prepared the report, will present some of the findings that raise ethical questions on Monday, February 1st at 3 to 4:30pm. Following his presentation, two discussants will offer ethical analysis of these findings. Bioethics issues discussed during this webinar include early genital surgery for intersex infants and children, “Conversion therapy” to change sexual orientation or gender identity, gender-affirming care for transgender people, and ensuring access to care for LGBTQI+ people.
