Afsaneh Shirani, MD, MSCI, Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurological Sciences at UNMC, will present “Shared Decision-Making and MRI in Multiple Sclerosis: Patient Experience, Gaps, and Opportunities” on Thursday, May 20^th at 11:50am via Zoom. Dr. Shirani will review the evolving role of MRI in Multiple Sclerosis, discuss gaps in shared decision-making surrounding MRI in Multiple Sclerosis, discuss potential safety concerns of the repeated use of gadolinium-based contrast agents for brain MRI, and discuss the findings from a recent nation-wide study focused on assessing patients’ understanding of their MRI in Multiple Sclerosis.
