Incorporating a Sex-and-Gender Lens from Bench to Bedside: Neurology Webinar

The NIH Office of Research on Women’s Health, in partnership with the Food and Drug Administration Office of Women’s Health, developed the e-learning course “Bench to Bedside: Integrating Sex and Gender to Improve Human Health.” This online course gives users a thorough and up-to-date understanding of sex and gender influences on health and disease so users can apply this knowledge when conducting research and interpreting evidence for clinical practice. This virtual session will introduce the neurology module of the course on Tuesday, September 1 at noon (CST). It will feature presenter Farida Sohrabji, PhD, from the Texas A&M College of Medicine. Dr. Sohrabji will discuss the urgency of considering sex and gender in neurological health and will briefly introduce the three conditions covered in the e-learning module: ischemic stroke, Parkinson’s disease, and epilepsy. Dr. Sohrabji will also share lessons learned from her career as an educator committed to including sex and gender in graduate and medical education. Registration is required.
