Olga Taraschenko, MD, PhD, Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurological Sciences and Director of the Comprehensive Epilepsy Program at UNMC, will present “Animal Model of Seizures: Crossroads Between Innate and Adaptive Immunity” on Wednesday, May 12^th at noon via Zoom. This presentation will focus on summarizing the role of receptor autoantibodies in the manifestations of acute seizures and encephalopathy in Encephalitis, reviewing the development and characterization of the animal model of autoimmune seizures in their laboratory, and understanding the role of innate immune system as a potential target for new treatments for refractory autoimmune seizures.
