The National Cancer Institute (NCI) will host Julie Palmer, ScD, Professor of Epidemiology at the Boston University School of Medicine and Director of the Slone Epidemiology Center, to present “Predisposition Genes and Breast Cancer Risk in African American Women” on Tuesday, May 4th at 2pm. Dr. Palmer’s primary focus is on elucidating reasons for the disproportionately high incidence of hormone receptor negative breast cancer in African American women and on understanding and reducing racial disparities in breast cancer mortality.
