Enhancing Older Adults’ Holiday Experience During a Pandemic
November 17, 2020 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm UTC-6
The COVID-19 pandemic has contributed to prolonged social isolation and loneliness across the lifespan. Loneliness is known to have deleterious effects on older adults. This lecture, presented by Dr. Cecilia Poon, seeks to highlight the scope of the problem, summarize existing interventions to combat loneliness among older adults during the pandemic and identify tips and strategies for individuals, healthcare providers and communities to safely support older family members, friends and care recipients’ diverse social and emotional needs during the holiday season. This will be presented virtually on Tuesday, November 17th at noon. Please pre-register by emailing Lana Molczyk at the Olson Center for Women’s Health.
